Day 11 of the Misnamed 10 Day Album Cover Challenge: Jivendirect "Then When"

I discovered jivendirect in my first year of college. They're a local band out of San Luis Obispo, with a devoted fanbase and performances up and down the central coast of California. Their blend of funk and pop is like SLO distilled into musical form, and their live shows are upbeat, fun, and fill you with energy. They're also genuinely nice guys.

Their name changed over the years, first to JND, and then to their frontman's name, Damon Castillo. It was Damon that shepherded my first single, "Bless This Year," from a lead sheet to a fully-fledged recording.

Should you ever find yourself in the car on a long drive with the windows rolled down and the sun shining, bust out "Mexico City" from this album, or "Knock Yourself Out" from their second album Grip, or "Weird World" from their latest record.
